Mr. Andrew Coyne

Canadian author, journalist and political commentator

Andrew Coyne is a leading Canadian journalist, author, and political commentator, currently a columnist for The Globe and Mail and a weekly panellist on CBC’s At Issue. He previously served as national editor of the National Post, editor of The Walrus, and columnist for Maclean’s and Southam News. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Review, Saturday Night, and other major publications. Coyne is the author of The Crisis of Canadian Democracy (2025). He has received two National Newspaper Awards for editorial writing and the Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism (1994). He is also a Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
