Ms. Eve Lazarus

Journalist and acclaimed author

Ms. Lazarus is a Vancouver-based reporter, author, and host and producer of the Cold Case Canada true crime podcast. She has written eleven nonfiction books exploring hidden histories and gripping true crime, including Cold Case BC (2022), Murder by Milkshake (2018), and Sensational Vancouver (2014), which earned a City of Vancouver Heritage Award. Her book Cold Case Vancouver (2015) was shortlisted for the Bill Duthie Booksellers’ Choice Award, and her work has also been a finalist for the Arthur Ellis Award, City of Vancouver Book Award, and BC Book Prizes. Her latest release, Beneath Dark Waters (2024), investigates the legacy of the Empress of Ireland shipwreck.

OUR QUANTUM UNIVERSE

Dr. Mark Van Raamsdonk is recognized internationally for his pioneering work at the intersection of quantum mechanics and gravity. His research aims for a better theoretical understanding of elementary particle physics, classical and quantum gravity, and cosmology. His essay “Building up spacetime with quantum entanglement” won first prize from the Gravity Research Foundation in 2010 and has become a landmark in the field.
