America’s Dumping Ground has won the Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for Best News Documentary. The radio documentary and podcast, reported and produced by GRC collaborator Allison Griner, investigates what happened to the largest electronic waste dump in the world, in Guiyi, China. Griner returned to the site of the centre’s Emmy Award-winning 2009 FRONTLINE/World documentary on e-waste, in which International Reporting Program fellows documented the paths of e-waste from North America to China, India and West Africa.
The documentary was co-produced with the Center for Investigative Reporting, and broadcast by the center’s signature program Reveal.
