Dr. Khan is a prolific author and community activist. Her first crime novel, The Unquiet Dead (2015), won a Barry Award and the Arthur Ellis Award for Best First Novel.
Lionsgate has optioned for television her four-volume mystery series, Esa Khattak/Rachel Getty. She is also the author of the fantasy series The Khorasan Archives (2018). Prior to her writing career, Dr. Khan was the Editor in Chief of the first magazine directed to young Muslim women in North America, Muslim Girl. She also practiced immigration law in Toronto and taught international human rights law at Northwestern University, as well as human rights and business law at York University. Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. in international human rights law.
