April 18, 2017 | 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm PST
Location: University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and Live Stream
This talk with Dr. Shayna Plaut – Research Manager at the GRC – explores the findings of the Fixer’s study as well as its implications for the rise of Islamophobia in western media and policy.
This presentation is a post-colonial analysis involving 450 people in 85 countries, mapping the relationship between foreign journalists, local “fixers” (those who assist foreign reporters on assignments) and its effect on international news coverage.
