Mary Kay Magistad, an award-winner journalist and podcaster who often focuses on undercovered long-term trends and social justice issues, lived and reported in East Asia and beyond for more than two decades, first in Southeast Asia for The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, NPR, CBC and others, then in China, opening NPR’s Beijng bureau and returning for PRI/BBC’s The World. Her podcast, “Whose Century Is It?,” a 2017 Webby Awards honoree, looks at ideas, trends and twists shaping the 21st century.
