Salil Tripathi

Author, correspondent, and chair of PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee

Salil Tripathi was born in India and lives in London. He chairs PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee. He has been a correspondent in Southeast Asia and has written for many major international publications. His books include Offense: The Hindu Case (Seagull, 2009), The Colonel Who Would Not Repent: The Bangladesh War and its Unquiet Legacy (Aleph, 2014, Yale 2016), and Detours: Songs of the Open Road (Tranquebar, 2015). He is currently working on a book on Gujaratis.
