Ms. Jen Sookfong LeeWriter, teacher, and broadcaster

Ms. Lee is a novelist, poet, and food writer. She co-hosts the literary podcast, Can’t Lit, and previously, was a columnist for CBC Radio One’s On the Coast, All Points West, and The Next Chapter, and a frequent co-host of the Studio One Book Club. Ms. Lee’s most notable books include the Chinatown Trilogy: The End of East (2007), shortlisted for the City of Vancouver Book Award; The Better Mother (2011); and The Conjoined (2016), nominated for the International Dublin Literary Award and a finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. She has also written books for children: Chinese New Year: A Celebration for Everyone (2017), The Animals of Chinese New Year (2018) and Finding Home: The Journey of Immigrants and Refugees (2021). The Shadow List (2021) is Ms. Lee’s first poetry collection and Superfan (2022) her forthcoming memoir.
