Speaker: Professor David McDonald, Alice D. Mortenson/Petrovich Distinguished Chair in Russian History University of Wisconsin-Madison
Dr. McDonald teaches and conducts research in the history of the Russian Empire and the politics of contemporary Russia. He is the author of United Government and Russian Foreign Policy, 1900-1914 (1992), and has contributed to several edited books and published on academic journals about slavic history. McDonald was a research fellow at the Kennan Institute for Advanced Russian Studies with the Woodrow Wilson Center, and technical advisor for History of the World for Dummies (2001).
McDonald has also served as Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Athletics at UW-Madison and has written about American Intercollegiate athletics. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the recipient of a doctorate at Columbia University. This lecture is sponsored by Mr. Craig Laronge, a UW-Madison alumnus.
